Politico reports that Governor of Alaska and former VP nominee Sarah Palin has just announced that she intends to resign from the governorship later this month. Many of us had a feeling that she wouldn’t be running for re-election in Alaska, but I know I was surprised to find out she was resigning ahead of time.Outwardly, she says that she’s resigning because she doesn’t like the idea of taxpayer dollars being spent on investigations into ethics inquiries against her. However, most pundits believe she’s resigning so that she can run for President in 2012 without simultaneously having to run a state.
Personally, I think it’s a little (though not incredibly) irresponsible for someone to resign as governor while their state is going through tough times. I think a governor should take charge and help lead his or her citizens out of this economic mess, which has been hurting so many people since last Autumn. Frankly, I won’t be surprised if other Republican primary candidates use this against her.
What do you think? Should Governor Palin resign from office? Do you think the reason she gave was true, or do you think there’s an ulterior motive?

As much as I would LOVE to see her consumed by a political blunder, I'm quite sure this is a step towards 2012. The only way she can continue to make strides to a Presidential run is to keep her mouth shut.

Following the surprise Palin announcement, website supporters are gathering across the nation to support Sarah Palin for President in 2012 can be found online at http://www.palin4pres2012.com
Our the website is in danger of crashing due to the flood of readers and supporters signing up to show their interest in a Palin Candidacy. The GOP establishment had better watch out, Sarah Palin and Ron Paul combined with the power of the internet will remove the stranglehold of GOP special interests and the elites who have brought the party to its knees in defeat in the 2008 elections.
