The Downside of Twitter: We Can Actually See What's On Politicians' Minds

Rep. Pete Hoekstra made news today when he compared Iranian protesters’ use of Twitter to Republicans’ using it last year during a vote on an energy bill. When they were a) not being beaten, b) still allowed to move and speak freely and c) once again, not being beaten. I think the blog that his tweet spawned speaks for itself.

Isn't this sort of like our Vice President claiming to know how dangerous chasing terrorists was like… because his helicopter was grounded for weather? :)

Don't let your ideology blind you to the fact that politicians on both sides of the aisle are detached from our reality.
