Apparently, Mitt Romney’s campaign for the presidency in 2012 has already begun.
Speaking to those at the Conservative Political Action Conference in DC, Romney had a response to those who say ‘conservatism’ should be redefined:
I think that misses the mark. America’s challenges are different from year to year, but our defining principles remain the same. Conservatives don’t enter each new political era trying to figure out what we believe.
I suppose this means Romney has not been paying much attention to RNC Chair Michael Steele, who has said he wants to bring the party to the “hip-hop” community.
At any rate, it appears that Romney is throwing his name into the mix for 2012 (echoing the recent publicity gathering by Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin), though you wouldn’t know it from his website, which is not focused on him, but on his “Free and Strong America [Political Action Committee].”
